We are a small group of visually impaired people helped by some sighted bowlers who meet regularly at Yeovil Bowls Club to enjoy a game of bowls (members are also welcome to bring along a guide or helper, guide dogs are also welcome, but are not allowed on the outdoor bowling green or indoor carpet). Our members come from various areas in South Somerset and from across the border in Dorset.

We play our bowls throughout the year, outdoors in summer (weather permitting) and indoors during the winter.

Membership is open to anyone who is registered blind and the registered partially sighted with a valid registration document, over the age of 16 and not eligible to hold a valid driving licence.

The YVIBC have always had a high standard of both male and female players. Historically, YVIBC have produced both male and female World VI bowls champions.

We are very proud to have national and international bowlers amongst our membership, namely our present chairperson/captain Maurice Perry and treasurer Ron Homer
